Alpha Heart

The alpha wolf is kind and strong,
courageous and fiercely protective of his own,
he is not like you who fight and spat
and has no need to prove his worth,
his heart is true, his purpose sure.

So all you wolves who now contest
to be better than all the rest,
remember who it is you are putting down,
it is your brother, and you all should own
that if you truly were the alpha
then an alpha heart you would have towards your brother.

For that first place cannot be taken
it cannot be bought, claimed or stolen,
no amount of fighting or down treading will put it within your grasp
for it can only ever be given.

And so that wise and beautiful alpha wolf
just sits and watches you all play your games,
in the quiet hope that one day you all will see
it is your brother you fight against.

Then maybe, just maybe you will grow and change
and become an alpha heart.
